Actually, it is possible. At least, it used to be.
A couple of years ago, my account got suspended for a couple of days. For whatever reason, using my iPad, I was still able to access the forums and post to the discussion board while my account was suspended.
I realize that doesn't sound like it should be possible. But I was able to do it.
