c'mon WGT do we have to beg for an answer?

a few different times, i have asked, as have several other WGT members...

what are the tier score average ranges?

i got put into the masters on the day that the new tiers came out with a 68.3

recently i've played with some pros who have had averages below 68

what's the deal and why is it a big secret?

It would indeed be nice to better understand how the tier ratings are determined. Obviously, it isn't just average score. Looking at just the first page of master and pro players, there is quite an overlap. The master tier averages seem to go up to a little above the mid 70's (76.5 was the highest), while the pro averages go down to the low 70's (70.9 at the lowest). So what else is used in calculating tiers??

I'd really prefer them not releasing that information... to deter sandbagging.  Just my opinion.

Mr Studio the averages at any tier level can go as high as 150 ( I think that is what WGT tops out at) because once you make it to a new tier there is no going back.  I.E. if you make master and decide that it is too hard you cannot post a bunch of poor scores to reduce your average and move yourself back into the previous tier.

As for the number that will get you into each tier, I agree with Lee.  There is already enough sandbagging and multiple account holders as is, posting exact numbers that move you up a tier will only make it that much worse.

Yeah, I'm a little confused. I just joined on the 6th, have only played 9 rounds, never shot par, and I find that I'm a Pro today, with a horrible average, and now get to play rounds in a windstorm.

There's no dropping back down, correct?

I hadn't thought about sandbagging and cheating - that's just so weird, but I guess a fact of life. Knowing the scores to advance to another tier would give a goal to shoot for, but it makes sense that trying to control cheaters should be paramount.

well before this update i was averaging about 70 and after today that has dropped to @68 so i am guessing if i can shave another 3 strokes or so min off my average i will go into the masters tier and then i can get a proper schooling from tibbets, avatar et al!

tibbets runs a clinic every tournament.  He must have been one of the original members to earn 9k.  I wonder if you can withdraw earnings?

I am a 67.43 Pro and I don't wanna become Master until I get new clubs.  I've gotten this far with just the Starters.

the only thing that is clear, is that once one lowers his her average to a certain point he/she then qualifies for the next higher tier....once in that higher tier it would seem that your average has nothing to do with tier determination save moving to the next higher tier if it ever reaches the threshold for that next higher tier...you never move from a higher tier to a lower tier....Hbthree

First off I agree with any method that detours sandbaggers or as I like to put it "quitting your way to the top" ; )

.....but another point just came up and I've heard several different "statements" on it...if you all don't mind......  THE MONEY.  Is it REAL money? OR is it "virtual CREDIT money"?  Thanks ~ GDub
