  well put my friend.. I agree . I tried to remember the post where the fellow said he was not a computer geek so it would take some time for him to get used to the software his nephew told him about to help him stop his swing meter on the dime! Yeah the cheaters are out there it seems to me they are increasing.

  Griz, you missed my point entirely.  But since we are on the subject, based on my hypothesis, are you a choker or a cheater?  For you see, I perhaps unlike you in the qualifying rounds, never faced the same winds twice.   Of course some holes haphazardly were the same but not often.  And I would suspect that somebody who has played as often as you, would surely be able to adjust to the conditions rather quickly just like in qualifying or at least had seen all potential winds.  Every time I play real golf, the wind rarely blows the same way and the pins are never where they were the day before, how is this different?

  Being rhetorical here of course, but so were you.  Instead you should be admonishing those that cheated to qualify who denied the "legit" players their fair place in the competition.

  ok eaglesdare... figure it out.. if you could stop and start the game whenever and wherever you wanted, whats the sense in having any sort of scoring or ranking?...everyone would be perfect....

  Callawayjay... while I am not completely disagreeing with your message, there is a point that I think you need to reconsider..

  Yes, a lot of ppl qualified with mind-boggling scores, only to post average human scores on the event.  Did they choke or cheat?  I would say (in the most cases) neither.

  Remember, they had a full month to post their BEST score, and one shot to post their open score.  How many rounds do you think AvatarLee started in the qualifier?  I say "started" because it was unlimited and you could hit the first tee shot, watch it go into the rough, and restart...  before he got to  his 61?  100?  1000? more?!

  While I will concede that there are a number of cheaters (who should be banned, broken, hanged AND shot), I am not willing to use the majority of the USOpen participants as the litmus test.

  Even though my skills here are below average at best, I do much better on an unlimited tourney than any single play.  It's just the nature of the game.

  Snaike you are right, I should not have inferred that most or the majority used some kind of help to post their qualifying rounds.   Instead, I should have said something more like quite a few.

  What a load of crap. This is getting ridiculous. I am willing to bet that nobody cheated in qualifying. What I see here is is a bunch of sour grapes coming from those who couldn't make the cut. What did you choke Call? Or just didn't try hard enough, or perhaps you just aren't good enough. Obviously what Griz did you will never do so to call him a choker is a laugh. To call out those who did succeed just highlights your own weaknesses.

  Feel free to add me to your list of chokers because I didn't perform in the way you saw fit in a tourney you were unable to make. LOL

  Since golf is indeed a game of honor; why are so many people so rude on these threads?  Can't we keep it to discussing/debating the issues and quit attacking the people who post?   Golf is the most civil of games.  Let's step up our civility here on the 19th hole.
