    Great post, I have experienced this without knowing why, playing for some break to only see the putt stay straight. I have mishit putts only to still see them go in I believe to the misread from what you just explained.

    I also think I had sort off observed this on putts over distinct tiers and have started adjusting for it without realizing why. More often then not I need to play less break and less speed coming over a tier when its flatter before and after the tier.

    When my ball is less than 15 feet from the hole I switch the shot mode to Pitch, Chip, or Flop and move the putting green grid to put the ball and the hole in the same grid column, when that is possible.

    I find this gives me a more accurate look at the break in the green. However, we aren't always able to use a viewpoint that allows putting the ball and the hole in the same grid column.
