  If I am 140 out in a fairway bunker it seems if I use anything other than my Wedge It doesn't go more than 40 yards. 

  Could it be that I am a level 31 and don't have the best equipment?

  hi

  even with best clubs, unless it;s 15-20 sand, you will likely not reach the green. bunkers are there to penalize, so wedge is still likely your best option.

  Understood but that is not life-like. I am a 4 handicap and have little trouble getting from a 140 bunker home. Shouldn't the game resemble as close as it can to real life?

  You're right Sinkman. IRL you can take a wood out of a bunker if it's sitting well. It's a shame this game doesn't differentiate the lie on how the ball entered the bunker too. A ball that trickles in usually has a better lie than one that plummets.
