Yes, maybe my best round ever here.

Yes, the 15/20 sand on Cabo 18 leaves the best angle for the approach and also takes a little backspin off the short iron so the ball runs up to the pin rather than spinning back away from it. Not to be used in UEL, or you'll be on a slope from hell!

Have I ever mentioned that I don't like Congressional? If not, consider it mentioned.

I was only -5 through 14 after five straight pars, but made birdie on 15, 17, and 18 to turn a dreadful round into a respectable 63. Missed short putts on 4, 12, and 16, and really had no other decent chances despite hitting 17/18 greens. Parring every par 3 is not a good recipe in uneven lies.

I came so close to a great round but had some silly mistakes. A missed putt from under 6 feet for birdie on the 1st, bogie on the par 5 6th after going in the rough with my 2nd shot and another very short miss on the 17th. Reasonably happy with a 63 but sub 60 was very much on the way I was playing.

I was very happy to birdie the 16th though after my tee shot put me on the far right of the fairway and left a yellow lie. You UEL fans should have a good idea how far right I had to aim my 2nd shot.
