    i have been playing regularly for a few months and cant seem to get my approach shots close to the flag is there a science to this"?

    Can understand for sure.  May want to take a look at Golf Tips Website

    Could find  a few tips there.

    Practice, practice, practice.  Mulligan feature in practice round.

    Picking the right shot for that situation is important also. Practice of these shots are never ending. Even the Tour Legends practice a lot.

    Apart from necessary practice, Starter (and Beginner?) wedges produce low quality shots unless you have a ton of experience. Snake Eyes won't be much better I fear.

    Quality wedges like the Pings (lvl 18 60 yds, lvl 42 90 yds) or ATV 50 + 77 yds will do wonders to your short game.

    with the starter clubs and wedges, you get nothing buy inconsistency and will continue to do so until you upgrade your clubs
