I got them for the meter over the R11's, they're all over the map for the most part . . .

Same here. 12 days later I sold the L85+ Nike iron set back to the pro shop.

Funny, I prefer the Nikes to R11 (I own both) and they're serving me quite well. Not all over the map at all, you just need to know what spin and wind do to them.

    they all have adjustment time:)

As I have also stated, new clubs could need time to break them in , and they need, as wgticon said, adjustment time. But do what you think is right.

    ps

I have best luck w/ the Nike 85 using balls w/ at least 3.5 spin.

    e.g. Callaway yellow 37, Call. 33, Nike 61

Well as far as the L85 Nike's go - I don't know if my 'environment' has been 'tweaked' from shooting low scores but they seem to have almost zero forgiveness now. Doesn't matter which ball. I only use a couple of different ones now. N61/81 or Cally L53 that's it. Distance-wise they seem about the same.

If they're going to play like this over the next week then may as well go back to R11's or maybe move to the Max 94's, which I had and were pretty happy with.

I have to say the 81's seem to be about the best for me, I like the 61's as well. I find the 81's have this short little pop when landing on the long irons, hits, pops about a yrd then sits, which is kinda nice.

Well I would be confused out of sight with more than one ball / club set combo.

Each to their own but all I can say is 1 ball with1 set of clubs, and learn all courses all shots with that is all I can hope to do OK with.  If others can be more productive other ways great,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    bhoese:

The Midlevel Nike Vr set came in with the best result so far, even better than the L97s.  I think it's worth saying yet again...20-shot samples are not large enough for drawing grand conclusions.  Still, they look like great clubs.

I have the 97s but I will not sell my 85s
