Driver off the deck??? Whatcha playing off a boat ? Ha Ha

Tried it many times with no good results... Wish I could for the distance... given my first shot....maybe I need a better first shot !

I'll just drag out the old 3 wood n hope for the best

    Enjoy your play

I am 63 years old and an 11 handicapper. I can and have hit driver off the deck many times.  Sometimes the results are not what I wanted but when I hit it correctly, I can get on some par 5's by doing it.  Most of the older drivers, before the 460cc head, were weighted in the bottom and it was no problem hitting it out of the fairway. The newer clubs, have a sweetspot high on the face of the club.  Hitting it off the deck is  harder to do with the new clubs because of this.    I would not think this would be a good idea on here.   Most of the time it isn't a good idea on a real course.  LOL

Not true, I do it all the time as an amateur. Did you see the PGA Championship this week (August 2009)?
