From the Master tees and a tail wind and the R9 driver, I am having great results keeping it on the green by hitting a full punch driver.

Great advice! I always had trouble getting the ball to hold with full tail wind. Thanks.

Has anybody managed to ace this hole yet? Closest I have got from the tee is 1 yard, but to do that means flirting with the edge of the rough and it is a risky strategy.

So now the R9 is your choice?  I believe not too long ago you declared it was sloppy, unpredictable and sucked.    You said that it was a fact of life that the G10 was superior.

I'm a little confused, but not that it would be the first time my comprehension skills are lacking.

When I wrote that I owned both drivers, still do. Yes the G10 is the better, however in the High wind at St. Andrews I prefer the R9 because of the few extra yards that provide a chance of reaching a few par 4s, reaching the fairway on #7 if against a 25 mph headwind and a better chance of improving my longest drive stat, and in the heavy wind the slop factor is ever present regardless of either choice. My original comment is still valid and cogent.
